Invoy's patented and patent-pending, hand-held human breath sensors are positioned to aid in managing certain diseases and health conditions. Our development plan initially focuses on obesity management and prevention of diabetic ketoacidosis. Invoy’s breath analyzer will measure acetone and at least one other, currently proprietary, analyte in human breath.
Why Human Breath?
Human breath is rich with analytes which can indicate dynamic physiological changes of health and disease.
Breath analysis for home diagnostics provides several advantages over other methods of analysis. Urine analysis has been criticized as being inaccurate. Blood tests are painful, which leads to low compliance. Fecal analysis is inconvenient for home users. Sweat samples are commonly contaminated with hair or dead skin. Accordingly, breath provides a compelling medium for home diagnostics.
At Invoy, human breath is viewed as a noninvasive portal to understanding the workings of the human body. There are an estimated 200 analytes in human breath. Invoy’s breath sensing technology is designed to measure analytes in human breath in a portable, user friendly, and inexpensive manner.
The Invoy Solution
Our planned product is positioned to achieve an exciting goal: within seconds of exhaling into a hand-held breath analyzer, the user obtains objective information about his or her health. The immediacy and objectivity of this information, we hope, will help the user better understand and improve his or her condition.
Invoy plans to introduce a line of breath monitors that: (1) are capable of field-analysis; (2) can make assessments without expensive and cumbersome support equipment; (3) can sense in real or near real-time; and (4) remain accurate and precise in the hands of the general public.
